Our Junior B students have recently come up with some truly wonderful work when they were asked to create their own town, write about it and present it to their classmates.
Rather than doing more and more exercises on tedious worksheets, they had to communicatively use structures such as “My town has got/hasn’t got”, “In my town there is/isn’t”, “The train station is behind/in front of, etc. the cinema” in a more meaningful and motivating way.
Everybody was completely engaged in the activity and motivated to learn. Alongside the happy and proud little faces, the activity resulted in some really successful learning!
